Work/ Field Notes IAA - Coretrack Role: Lead UX DesignerKey Aspects: Legacy system migration, Workflow redesign, Enterprise UIThe problemThe IAA Title Procurement Call Center ran on Coretrack seven days a week to process incoming work orders. The tool was built in Silverlight, a technology IAA could no longer support or scale, so I led the UX for its rebuild into ASP.NET MVC. The real problem wasn't the framework; it was throughput. Faster work order processing meant damaged vehicles and equipment moved through the auction pipeline faster. The decisionI redesigned the core workflows around reducing steps to complete a work order and made status and next-action always visible, so call center staff weren't hunting for what came next. Work/ Field Notes Chop Chop - NEW Website Role: Sole Designer and Engineer, 0-to-1Key Aspects: Mobile-first UX, Booking flow design, End-to-end buildThe problemChop Chop came to me a year into the business with a phase-one site that couldn't keep up with a mobile salon and barber brand built entirely around being on the go. I integrated their booking and POS system directly into…

Work/ Field Notes Bethesda Roasting - Website Role: Sole Designer and Engineer, 0-to-1Key Aspects: E-commerce UX, Subscription model design, End-to-end build The problemBethesda Roasting had a strong product and a strong brand instinct, but no cohesive way to turn either into a business online, and no team to build one. As the sole designer and engineer, I owned the full path from concept to launch. The decisionI built the site e-commerce-first rather than bolting a store onto a brochure site, developed the brand system end to end, and introduced a subscription model, the mechanism that turns a one-time buyer into recurring revenue. Retargeting campaigns across social kept the brand in front of people after that first purchase. The result was a shift from a single storefront idea to a multichannel brand with…
